- The sunspots in the image are roughly 2-3 times the size of Earth
- The spots aren't actually black, just cooler than the rest of the Sun. While the Sun's surface is about 5,500°C, a sunspot is "only" about 3,500°C
- If you could pull a sunspot away from the Sun and put it in the night sky, it would glow brighter than a full moon!
- You could fit about 109 Earths side-by-side across the face of the Sun
